Alberton Historic Home Weddings
Alberton is a historic, romantic 18-room timber mansion and is one of the most loved historic houses in New Zealand. In the late 19th and early 20th century it was famous for its hunts, garden parties, dances, music and friendly welcomes, which is still evident today and the homestead provides a picturesque historical backdrop for your New Zealand wedding. Located only 6-7 minutes from downtown Auckland the homestead and beautiful half hectare of gardens can cater for weddings large and small and is available for weddings Wednesday through to Sunday.
There are a number of suitable locations that can be used for your wedding ceremony and they include:
- In the garden near the fountain
- On the ground floor verandah
- In the ballroom (this also serves as a good wet weather option should the front steps not be able to be used)
The exotic verandahs provide a glorious backdrop for the ceremony, wedding photographs and for a celebration function.
Alberton is also available for wedding receptions and is most suitable for a cocktail party/high tea style celebration. All catering is quoted for on a case by case basis and they allow you to choose your own caterer and to bring your own alcohol. All functions must finish by 9.30/10.00pm.
