Adele Island or Motuarero-nui as it is know in the Maori language is a strikingly beautiful island named after the wife of the famous french explorer Dumont d’Urville. The Island is a sanctuary for many native bird species including the South Island Robin or Kakaruai and with rapidly growing numbers the cacophony of birdsong makes for a spectacular natural ‘soundtrack’. Adele Island offers several very sheltered beaches with amazing rock formations as well as the naturally formed sand spit covered with glistening white pipi shells which curves out into Tasman Bay at low water and makes an ideal "aisle" to walk down and at the end, a quiet, reflective place to take your wedding vows.

Options include being collected at the beginning of your day from the golden sands of Kaiteriteri or Awaroa by Catamaran Charter or from the spectacular windswept beach at Marahau by Water Taxi Charter or from Kaiteriteri by Luxury Ketch Charter. Once on board you will sail across to Adele Island via a sheltered inland waterway passing the picturesque Split Apple Rock, the natural beauty of many golden sand beaches including the historic Watering Cove where the Explorer, D'Urville, replenished his water supply in 1827.
